The short version
Track Record keeps score of the stock tips you hear, using pretend money. It doesn't give investment advice, recommend buying or selling anything, or connect to a brokerage. Past results don't predict future ones. Track Record Pro is an optional subscription sold by Apple, which you can cancel at any time.
Your license (EULA)
These terms are the Terms of Use for Track Record. Track Record is licensed to you under Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement (the standard EULA for App Store apps), and these terms add to it. Where they differ, Apple's agreement applies. Apple isn't responsible for Track Record or for supporting it; we are.
Not investment advice
- Every position in Track Record is make-believe. No money is invested, and Track Record can't buy or sell anything.
- Track Record shows how tips would have done. It doesn't tell you what to buy, sell or hold, and nothing in it is a recommendation, a prediction, or financial, investment, tax or legal advice.
- A source's record is past results only. A source that beat the S&P 500 before may not do so again.
- Talk to a licensed professional before making real investment decisions.
Scores and market data
- Scores are arithmetic on adjusted end-of-day closing prices, compared with SPY over the same dates. They're updated after each trading day's close and show the date they're as of.
- Prices come from a third-party market-data provider and can be late, missing or wrong. Scores can change if the data is corrected.
- A source needs at least 5 scored tips for a full score. Before that, Track Record shows an early read.
- Results may be shown in the app and in images you choose to share, but not as share prices. You may not use Track Record to collect or rebuild price data.
AI features
If you turn them on, Track Record uses Claude, an AI model made by Anthropic, to find stock calls in text you share. AI can be wrong: it can miss a call, get a ticker or direction wrong, or misquote. Statements of fact in AI results shouldn't be relied on without checking them yourself. That's why Track Record shows you each call with its quote and asks you to confirm it before it's saved, and why AI summaries describe past numbers only. You're responsible for checking what you save.
Strategies
Track Record's strategy library describes well-known approaches, some inspired by public investors, with links to the sources they're drawn from. Those people aren't affiliated with Track Record and haven't endorsed it. The strategies are simplified summaries for tracking and learning, not instructions to follow. Track Record doesn't check whether a stock meets a strategy's rules; you do.
Track Record Pro
- Track Record is free to use with up to 5 tips you type in. Track Record Pro adds unlimited tips, AI capture, AI source summaries, check-in reminders and the widget.
- Track Record Pro is an auto-renewing subscription, monthly or yearly, sold by Apple. The price and length are shown in the app before you buy.
- Payment is charged to your Apple Account when you confirm the purchase. The subscription renews automatically at the same length and price unless you turn off auto-renew at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for the renewal within the 24 hours before the period ends.
- Manage or cancel it in your Apple Account's subscription settings: on iPhone, open Settings, tap your name, then Subscriptions. Cancelling stops the next renewal; Pro stays on until the end of the period you've paid for.
- Refunds are handled by Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.
- To use Pro on another iPhone with the same Apple Account, tap Restore Purchases in Track Record’s Settings.
- If Pro ends, your saved tips stay. You can still see them and their scores.
Trademarks
S&P 500, SPY and the names of companies, funds, podcasts, channels and people shown in Track Record belong to their owners. Track Record isn't affiliated with, sponsored by or endorsed by any of them, or by Apple.
Using Track Record fairly
Please don't misuse Track Record's service: don't try to get around its daily limits, send automated requests, copy or extract its data or market prices, or interfere with the server. Only share content to Track Record that you're allowed to. We may limit or stop access for anyone who misuses the service.
Your information
How Track Record handles your information is in our privacy policy. In short: your tips stay on your iPhone, scoring sends only tickers, dates and random IDs, and AI features are optional and ask first.
No guarantees
We work hard to make Track Record accurate and reliable, but it's provided as it is, without warranties of any kind, as far as the law allows. We don't promise it will always be available, be free of errors, or meet every need.
Limits of liability
As far as the law allows, Kinetic Apps and David Paterni aren't liable for any loss from using Track Record or relying on it, including any investment decision you make. If we are found liable, our total liability is limited to what you paid for Track Record Pro in the 12 months before the claim. Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not apply to you. Nothing here limits rights the law gives you that can't be taken away.
Changes
If these terms change, the new version will be posted here with a new date. Using Track Record after that means you accept the new terms.
