The short version
- Your tips, sources, notes and quotes are saved on your iPhone. Track Record has no accounts, no ads, no analytics and no tracking.
- To score a tip, the app sends our server the ticker, the direction, the date you heard it and random IDs. Never your sources' names, your notes or your quotes.
- AI features are optional. Only if you agree does text you share with Track Record go to Anthropic's Claude to find the tips in it. You can turn this off at any time in Settings.
- Your voice and your images are read on your iPhone and never leave it.
- We never sell or share your information for advertising.
What stays on your iPhone
- Your tips: the ticker, whether it was a buy or sell call, who you heard it from, where, when, and any note or quote you saved.
- Your sources (people, podcasts, channels and outlets) and their names.
- Your check-in reminders. They're local notifications scheduled on your iPhone; no server sends them, and they say only that a check-in is due.
- The widget's information, which the app writes to a shared folder on your iPhone. The widget never goes online. A Lock Screen widget can be seen by anyone who can see your iPhone.
- Pages and links you share to Track Record, and the text read from shared screenshots, wait in that same on-device folder until you review them.
- The latest scores the server sent back, so the app opens quickly.
Track Record doesn't sync through iCloud today. If that changes, this policy will say so first.
Scoring your tips
Track Record scores each tip on our server, against end-of-day prices the app never stores. For each tip, it sends:
- the ticker, the direction (bullish or bearish), the date you heard it, the pretend amount, whether it was added later, and the optional "close after" length;
- a random ID for the tip and a random ID for its source, so results can be matched up. These IDs aren't your source's name and can't be turned back into it.
The server answers with results only (for example "$1,000 is now $1,086"). It doesn't keep your tips after answering. To get prices, the server asks our market-data provider for the ticker's history; the provider receives only the ticker and a start date, never anything about you. Prices are cached by ticker, not by person.
Source summaries without AI are written from the same numbers, using fixed wording.
Finding tips with AI
Track Record can find the stock calls in an article, a podcast transcript, a screenshot or something you said, using Claude, an AI model made by Anthropic. This is off until you agree on the screen that explains it, which appears the first time you use an AI feature, never at launch.
What is sent, if you agree
- Articles and shared pages: the page's text, title and link.
- Screenshots and photos: only the text read from the image on your iPhone, never the image.
- Things you say: only the words, turned into text on your iPhone, never the audio.
- Podcasts: the episode's link. Our server fetches the show's feed and the publisher's own transcript from the publisher, and sends the transcript to Claude. For Apple Podcasts links, our server first asks Podcast Index which feed the show uses, sending only the show's Apple ID.
- AI source summaries (Track Record Pro): only the numbers (tickers, dates and results). The source is called "this source", never by name.
Whatever text you send may include names or quotes that appear in it. Claude returns the calls it finds, and you check and confirm each one before it's saved. AI can make mistakes: check its factual statements against the quote before you rely on them.
What Anthropic does with it
Anthropic processes the text on its own servers, only to answer our request. Under its commercial terms, Anthropic doesn't train its models on this content. Anthropic deletes it within 30 days. If Anthropic's safety systems flag a request as breaking its usage policy, it may keep that request for up to 2 years. Anthropic's privacy information is at privacy.claude.com.
Without AI
Every feature still works without agreeing. Track Record can find tips with Apple Intelligence on your iPhone, where it's available, and nothing goes to Anthropic. For podcasts, our server sends you the publisher's transcript to read on your iPhone or search yourself. You can always type a tip in.
Changing your mind
Turn off Use Claude for AI features in Track Record's Settings at any time. Nothing more is sent to Anthropic after that.
Voice, screenshots and photos
- Say a Tip uses the microphone only while you're speaking. Speech is turned into text on your iPhone only (Track Record requires on-device recognition), so your voice isn't sent to us, to Apple or to Anthropic, and no audio is kept.
- Screenshots and photos are read on your iPhone with Apple's text recognition. Only the text is kept; the image is never uploaded.
- The text from either can go to Claude only if you've agreed to AI features, as described above.
Install ID and App Attest
To keep the service fair and stop abuse, Track Record creates a random install ID the first time it runs and sends it with each request. It isn't linked to your name, your email or your Apple Account. Our server counts requests per install ID per day, so it can apply daily limits.
Where your iPhone supports it, Track Record also uses Apple's App Attest to prove requests come from the real app. Your iPhone makes a key that never leaves it; our server keeps the matching public key, a counter, Apple's attestation receipt, the app version and the install ID, and checks the signature on AI requests.
Track Record Pro
Track Record Pro is a subscription sold by Apple. Apple handles the payment: we never see your card, your name or your Apple Account. The app asks Apple on your iPhone whether you have Pro, and nothing about your purchase is sent to us. Apple's privacy policy is at apple.com/legal/privacy.
Who handles it
David Paterni, publishing as Kinetic Apps is responsible for this information. These services help run Track Record. Each receives only what its job needs, uses it only to provide that service to us, and provides the same or equal protection of your information as this policy describes:
| Service | What it does | What it receives |
|---|---|---|
| Vercel | Runs our server and this website, in the United States | Every request, including your internet address in its standard request logs |
| Supabase | Our database, in the United States | Cached prices by ticker, daily request counts by install ID, App Attest public keys |
| Anthropic | AI tip finding and summaries, only if you agree | The text described in "Finding tips with AI" |
| Twelve Data | End-of-day market prices | Tickers and start dates only, from our server |
| Podcast Index | Finds a podcast's feed from an Apple Podcasts link | The show's Apple ID only, from our server |
| Apple | App Attest, purchases, on-device speech and text recognition | What Apple's own services need |
| Resend | Delivers messages from this website's contact form | Your name, email and message, if you write to us |
When the server fetches a podcast's feed or transcript, the publisher's server sees our server's request, not you. We don't sell, rent or share your information with anyone else, and we never use it for advertising. We'd disclose it only if the law required us to.
How long it's kept
- On your iPhone: until you delete it, or delete Track Record.
- Tips sent for scoring: used to answer the request, not kept by our server.
- Text sent to Claude: not kept by our server. Anthropic deletes it within 30 days, or keeps it up to 2 years if flagged by its safety review.
- Daily request counts: deleted after 7 days.
- App Attest public key record: kept with no set end date today, so the server can keep checking that install. It can't be linked to your name, email or Apple Account, and a new install makes a new ID and key.
- Server request logs: kept by Vercel for a limited time under its own policy.
- Messages to us: kept in our email for as long as we need them to help you.
Your choices and rights
- Turn AI features off at any time in Settings.
- Leave the microphone, notifications and Apple Intelligence off; everything else still works.
- Wherever you live, you can ask what we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, and object to how we use it. Write to us using the details below and we'll answer within 30 days. Because we hold almost nothing that identifies you, we may not be able to find information that isn't linked to you.
- If you're in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland: we score your tips because you asked the app to, send text to Claude only with your consent (which you can withdraw), and keep install IDs and App Attest keys for our legitimate interest in preventing abuse. You can complain to your local data protection authority.
- If you're in California or another US state with a privacy law: you have the right to know, delete and correct your information, and to opt out of its sale or sharing. We don't sell or share personal information, and we won't treat you differently for using these rights.
If you live outside the United States, the information our server handles is processed in the United States.
Deleting your data
Delete a tip or source in the app and it's gone from your iPhone. Delete Track Record and everything it saved on your iPhone goes with it, and your install ID and App Attest key can no longer be used. Daily counts are removed within 7 days. To ask us to delete anything else, write to us.
This website
getkineticapps.com has no analytics, no advertising and no cookies. Like any website, our host sees your internet address when you visit. If you use the contact form, we receive your name, your email and your message by email, and use them only to answer you.
Children
Track Record isn't made for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from them. If you think a child has sent us information, write to us and we'll delete it.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with a new date. If Track Record ever needs to send anything new off your iPhone, the app will ask you first.
